The Sage Seminar Series

In response to our customers' shrinking training and travel budgets, Sage Technologies has created a series of affordable seminars presented at many convenient locations. In spite of their low prices, the courses are all instructed by engineers possessing the proper formal education and practical experience to explain both theoretical and "hands-on" aspects of sound and vibration testing.

We also do customized seminars tailored to customer requirements and interests.  These may be held at the customer's site and combined with our consulting services to solve a particular problem.

Vibration: Theory, Measurements, and Applications

(Level: Introductory, 1 Day, $195)

This is an introductory course designed for those new to vibration testing, occasional practicioners, and managers. The attendees are first given the essential foundation in the physics of vibration. Only simple mathematics are used. Instrumentation and proper measurement practices are then explained. The theory and practical knowledge are combined during the presentation of particular applications; Machine Vibration, Modal Analysis, and Shaker Testing.

Acoustics: Theory, Measurements, and Applications

(Level: Introductory, 1 Day, $195)

Only simple mathematics are used. Instrumentation and proper measurement practices are then explained. The theory and practical knowledge are combined during the presentation of particular applications; Community Noise, Noise Control, Sound Power and Intensity, and Hearing Conservation.

Signal Analysis

(Level: Intermediate, 1 Day, $195)

This is an intermediate level course on the analysis of signals common in sound and vibration testing such as those from accelerometers and microphones. Essential elements of general data acquisition such as filters, detectors, and sampling are covered. There is an emphasis on the use of FFT analyzers. Completion of a basic acoustics or vibration course or equivalent experience is recommended.
