The Sage Seminar Series
In response to our customers' shrinking training and travel budgets,
Sage Technologies has created a series of affordable
seminars presented at many convenient locations.
In spite of their low prices, the courses are all instructed by engineers
possessing the proper formal education and practical experience to explain
both theoretical and "hands-on" aspects of sound and vibration
testing.

Introduction to Thermography
(Level: Introductory, 1/2 Day, $95) Registration
This is an introductory course on how thermal imaging can be used to expand
your Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) program. The basic theory of thermography
will be explained along with examples. Proper camera operation, image archiving,
and report writing will also be covered. Cameras will be available for hands-on
practice. This seminar is presented in cooperation with FLUKE.

Introduction to Vibration Based Condition Maintenance
(Level: Introductory, 1 Day, $195) Registration
This an introductory course on how vibration measurements can be used
as part of a Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) strategy. Prevalent maintenance
strategies are compared along with a cost benefit analysis. Measurement and
protection systems are explained including sensors, meters, data acquisition,
and software. The symptoms and causes of major machine faults such as Imbalance,
Misalignment and Bearing wear are covered. A brief tutorial on vibration terminology
and measurements are included.
This is an introductory course designed for those new to acoustics, occasional
practitioners, and managers. The attendees are first given the essential foundation
in the physics of sound. Only simple mathematics are used. Instrumentation
and proper measurement practices are then explained. The theory and practical
knowledge are combined during the presentation of particular applications;
Community Noise, Noise Control, Sound Intensity and Power, and Hearing Conservation.

The theory and practical knowledge are combined during the presentation of
particular applications; Machine Vibration, Modal Analysis, and Shaker Testing.
This is an intermediate level course on the analysis of signals common
in sound and vibration testing such as those from accelerometers and microphones.
Essential elements of general data acquisition such as filters, detectors,
and sampling are covered. There is an emphasis on the use of FFT analyzers.
Completion of a basic acoustics or vibration course or equivalent experience
is recommended.
In partnership with Vibrant Technology, this comprehensive course takes
the attendees from the fundamental concepts all the way through completing
a whole test.
